FAZ WRANGLES ENDANGERING ZAMBIAN SOCCER – ZAVOSOFA

The Zambia Voluntary and Soccer Fans Association (ZAVOSOFA) says Patron Peter Makembo the on going wrangles in the Football Association of Zambia  (FAZ ) are becoming a major setback  to soccer development in the country.
FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya
ZANIS sports reports Makembo saying in an interview in Lusaka today that if the wrangles are not resolved amicably by the embattled Kalusha Bwalya led FAZ Executive, the already fallen football standards in the country will further fall to lower levels.
Makembo explained that soccer fans across the country do not want to see a situation were football becomes  affected in anyway because of the wrangles in FAZ.
He added that the wrangles in the Association should not be supported at all by every soccer loving Zambian but must be condemned at all levels.
Makembo pointed out that the resolving of the wrangles in FAZ has long been over adding that this should not be the case.
Meanwhile, the ZAVOSOFA Patron says the appointing of Boniface Mwamelo as FAZ Vice President taking over from Emmanuel Munaile who resigned from his position on Saturday was because the appointing committee saw that Mwamelo qualifies to be Vice President.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) executive has elevated Boniface Mwamelo to vice-president replacing Emmanuel Munaile.
FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya said the executive committee unanimously resolved to co-opt former Forest Rangers chairman, Kelvin Mutafu as treasurer.
Other members that have been co-opted are Division One (North) Ndola Lime Hotspurs secretary Happy Munkondya who with Mutafu became the latest inclusions after the appointment of Zambia Football Coaches Association president Patrick Kangwa and Division One (North) Mining Rangers proprietor Elijah Chileshe.
The new appointments follow the resignation of executive committee members Pivoty Simwanza, Henschel Chitembeya and Violet Bwalya.
He assured Government, co-operating partners and the entire football fraternity that everything is under control at Football House and his executive is still committed to ensure Zambia continues to score great strides in the development of the game.
And in the turn of events , Kangwa has rejected embattled Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Kalusha Bwalya’s offer to co-opt him in the executive.
Kangwa is among four high profile Football administrators that have shunned Bwalya’s rushed appointments, following the resignation of four elected executive committee members.
The quartet that turned down the offer has in their ranks Nchanga Rangers chairman Richard Kazala, Andre Mtine, Cephas Katongo and Patrick Kangwa.
In an interview Kazala confirmed that he had been approached but declined the offer to put club interests first.
The soccer governing body had co-opted Patrick Kangwa, Kelvin Mutafu, Elijah Chileshe and Happy Mukondya as new executive member to replace those who resigned on Friday.
Violet Bwalya, Pivoty Simwanza and Henschel Chitembeya resigned from their position and also quit their membership to the association after expressing unhappiness with the FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya led administration.
There has been perpetual squabbling at the local soccer governing body which also led to the resignation of the disciplinary committee chairperson Sunday Konde.
