Three members of the same family in Chongwe district in Lusaka Province have died in a road accident while three other family members have been seriously injured.
The accident happened last evening around 20.00 pm (20 hours) along the Great East Road near Zambia National Service (ZNS) Chongwe camp.
It occurred when a Toyota Camry registration number ABC 4884 carrying the accident victims rammed into a stationary Mitsubishi Light Truck registration number ABF 5234.
Chongwe District Administrative Officer (DAO) Stanslous Mutale confirmed the accident to Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) today.
Mr. Mutale identified the deceased as Tasha Mwakalombe 6, Simon Mwakalombe 28, and Brian Mwakalombe 12 and said the injured victims have since been rushed to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka.
The bodies of the deceased are lying in Chongwe District Hospital mortuary awaiting burial.
