Mr. Mukuka has since called upon all University of Zambia (UNZA) support staff to come and attend its inaugural USSUNZA General Meeting to be held on February 9, 2012 and exercise their constitution right of belonging to a Union of their choice.
He assured the University community that the new Union will observe transparency, representation and practice good governance tenets in line with its objectives.
And Interim General Secretary Raphael Chalwe commended the Minister of Labour, Chishimba Kambwili and his deputy, Rayford Mbulu for advocating for the rights of the Zambian workers.
Mr. Mbulu stated that the registration of the Union bears testimony to the PF government’s commitment of improving the plight of Zambian workers who have suffered without Union representation.
