WYNTER KABIMBA IS NEW JUSTICE MINISTER


President Michael Sata has with immediate effect nominated Lusaka Lawyer and Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Wynter Kabimba as Member of Parliament (MP) and subsequently appointed him Minister of Justice.
Mr. Kabimba replaces Mr. Sebastian Zulu who was fired by President Sata last Friday.
Mr. Sata expressed confidence that Mr. Kabimba will perform to his expectations and that of the Zambian people in general because of he has vast legal knowledge and proficiency.
This is contained in a press statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today by Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations George Chellah.
In a letter copied to the Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini and Vice President Guy Scott, the President wished Mr. Kabimba success and God’s blessings.
Mr. Kabimba is an advocate of the High Court and the Supreme Court as well as a member of the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ).
President Sata said Mr. Kabimba has solid experience from local government and has provided legal advice to local communities, private clients and national authorities such as the Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) and international agencies like the World Bank, Irish Aid and World Wide Fund for nature (WWF) among others.
Mr. Kabimba once served as Town Clerk and Chief Executive Officer of the Lusaka and Kitwe City Councils and was also chairperson of the Senior Chief Shakumbikla Cultural Association and legal council on land and wildlife.
